Wednesday 4/16

Periods 2-6: We watched a video and figured out the time. You need to figure out Vi (initial velocity) and how high it goes.

Period 7: Keep working on packet 1.2-1.3

Tuesday 4/16

Periods 2-5: Period 5 needs to turn in the 3 vertical motion problems tomorrow. All others, we started the introduction to the angry birds project. We started getting used to the graphing calculator on this website. Click the blue tab above for it.

Monday 4/14

Period 2-6: Do the first two problems on the three problem worksheet. Tomorrow we will learn graphing on a computer and how this applies to stuff.

Period 7: We turned in the 1.1 perimeter packet, you receved 1.2.  You do not have to do anything until Wednesday.

Algebra: These are the problems

1. You toss a rock into the air with an initial velocity of 20 ft/s.  H
A. How long until it hits the ground?

B. How high is it after 1 second?

2. Jesus threw a tennis ball to Dina, who was on a balcony 24 feet above him, with an initial velocity of 44 ft/s.  He threw it from an initial height of 4 feet.  Dina missed the ball on the way up, but caught it on the way down.
            A. How long was the ball in the air?

                B. If she missed it, how long would it take to reach
Jesus again? (hint: his hand is 4 ft from the ground)
 h
3. A gun fires a bullet into the air with an initial velocity of 1220 ft/s.
            A. How long until it hits the ground?

            B. What is the maximum height of the bullet (axis of symmetry)?

            C. How long did it take to get to the highest point?

Friday 4/11

Period 7: We started a little packet on perimeter.  Do up to question #3 (The cost question)

Notes 8.8 Algebra

And the three problems that go with it

1) If a rock is dropped off a bridge that is 36 feet above a river, how long will it take for the rock
to hit the water?

2) A tennis player hits a ball 1 foot above the
ground with an initial velocity of 20
feet per second. How long will it
take to hit the ground?

3) You throw a water balloon up off a building 200
feet in the air with initial velocity of 10 ft/s. How
high off the ground is it after:  2 seconds?
3 seconds?
4 seconds?
What does that last one mean?

Thursday 4/10

Period 6: Check Tuesday for the notes and problem.
Period 7: We did a practice test, no homework.

Period 2,3: I showed you where the equation came from, and we did 3 more problems.  I will post tomorrow, and they need to be done by Monday.

2) Define "Terminal Velocity"

3) Write a three sentence summary of the movie

Tuesday 4/8

Period 2-5: We learned about vertical and projectile motion.  We took some notes, did two problems, and I gave you a third to bring back Thursday or Friday. (Notes 8.7)

Problem #3: You drop a water balloon off a building 202 feet in the air. How long until it hits your friends head who is 6 feet tall?
