Tuesday 9/29/09

There will be a substitute on Tuesday 9/29/09. There will be no homework for periods 1-4 this day. Please be kind and respectful to the substitute. The classwork will be easy, just do what he says and enjoy the day. I am going to a training on the Promethean board and will hopefully get us on the delivery list for our class set of computers.

Algebra: Period 1 - The questions you did wrong on the quiz, redo on a seperate sheet and turn in Monday with the quiz. Be sure to show your work.

Algebra Readiness: Finish the five problems that were on the board. You have to evaluate the given expression for the given values.

Algebra: You are to find 5 rational and 5 irrational numbers and write them down.

Remember: Irrational numbers are 1) non repeating never ending decimals. 2) Square roots with no answer.

Textbook Distribution Schedule

You will receive all of your textbooks in your math class on the following days. Please make sure on your day you bring your student ID and a backpack to carry your books. Everyone has at least four books to carry.

Wednesday 9/9/09

Tomorrow!!! All students need to bring a math journal to class. We will start warmups, notes, and putting things in our journals. Target still has a pack of four for 60 cents.

Please also bring your class expectations back, and the graphing worksheet. The expectations will go in your journal, and you are turning in the graph for credit (your second grade).

Tuesday 9/8/09

Tomorrow everyone should be bringing back their expectations signed by their parents. I am just checking off that everyone has them signed.

You should also have a spiral bound notebook just for your math journal. You have until Thursday to bring it.

Things you NEED for the first day (or two)

1) My room has changed to room 105, one door down.

2) It is VERY HOT!!! Don't wear pants. Shorts, light shirt, bring water to drink.

3) It is HOT!!

4) You will need a journal just for math. Standard spiral bound 80 page notebook is fine, or a composition book. This will be for MATH ONLY!! You will still need paper and a regular binder to keep other stuff in. This is new for this year.
